Terms of Service
Last updated: March 18, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WriteMyThesis (the “Service”), operated by Cobey AI GmbH (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Service Description
WriteMyThesis is an AI-powered academic writing assistance tool. The Service uses a multi-agent pipeline to help users draft, research, structure, and refine academic papers. The Service includes automated research from academic databases, AI-generated text, citation management, and iterative quality review. All output is generated by artificial intelligence and is provided as a starting point for the user’s own work.
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your account information up to date. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. AI-Generated Content
All content produced by the Service is generated by artificial intelligence models. This content is provided as-is and may contain errors, inaccuracies, hallucinated information, or fabricated citations. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content requires your review, verification, and editing before use
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or quality of any generated content
- You are solely responsible for verifying all facts, data, citations, and claims in the output
- The Service does not replace professional academic research, writing expertise, or editorial judgment
5. Academic Integrity
WriteMyThesis is not a ghostwriting service. The Service is designed as an AI writing assistance tool that supports users in their own academic writing process. Users actively participate by configuring paper requirements, reviewing checkpoints, approving or rejecting output, and editing the final result.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with your institution’s academic integrity policies, honor codes, and any applicable rules regarding the use of AI tools in academic work. Many academic institutions have specific policies on AI-assisted writing — it is your obligation to understand and follow those policies.
Where required by your institution, you must properly disclose your use of AI assistance in the preparation of your work. We strongly recommend that all users transparently acknowledge AI involvement in their writing process.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the content you create using the Service, including your inputs (paper configuration, uploaded documents, feedback) and the final edited output. We retain all rights to the platform, its software, design, and underlying technology. You grant us a limited license to process your content as necessary to provide the Service.
7. Payment Terms
The Service operates on a per-paper pricing model. Prices are displayed before purchase and processed via Stripe. By completing a purchase, you agree to pay the stated price for the selected paper tier.
- Research and outline features are available at no cost
- The full writing pipeline requires a one-time purchase per paper
- Refunds are not available once the AI generation process has started
- Additional revision rounds may be purchased separately
- Bundle discounts apply to multi-paper purchases
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Submit AI-generated content as solely human-authored work where prohibited by your institution or applicable regulations
- Engage in plagiarism or academic dishonesty
- Generate content for the purpose of deceiving others about its origin
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the Service’s technology
- Use the Service on behalf of others without their knowledge or consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cobey AI GmbH shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation:
- Academic outcomes, grades, or evaluations
- Institutional consequences, including academic misconduct proceedings
- Loss of data or content
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated content
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific paper in question.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cobey AI GmbH, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable academic integrity policy or law.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability) shall survive.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Principality of Liechtenstein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Liechtenstein.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
